New Writing Types

Am headed down to Norwich at the end of this week for New Writing Types, a conference hosted by The New Writing Partnership. I'll be speaking on a panel discussion called Screenburn: Writers and The Internet, along with some very talented and interesting folks: Paul Carr from The Friday Project, Lane Ashfeldt of Pulp Net and poet Todd Swift. I'm really looking forward to it, and will probably come back all fired up about online writing again. And if anyone from these parts is going, give me a shout.

This will be my first visit to Narch, as my friend there calls it - and actually my first time in that whole bit of England, so it'll be good to check out a new place. I heard they have a store there that sells nothing but mustard. In the whole shop. Yep.

I often make trips down to that end of the world with work -- I'm always astounded by how flat the whole place is! I'm not sure where they hid all their hills...

It's very pretty though, if the weather's nice. Remember to factor in the inexorable half an hour stuck behind a tractor on the A47. ;-)

Looks great, well done being asked to speak! Come back and inspire us all! (Since, you know, I'm a bit lazy to go all that way myself).

Also, their website has a 'we're-all-about-writing-and-so-don't
-care-about-how-our-website-looks'
feel about it.

I lived my whole life in many parts of the UK and have never been to East Anglia. Come back and inspire us and I may take a look one day :)

How did you find Norwich? Personally I think it's bloody ace. Nearly two years since I was last there - far, far too long.

I'll do a proper post about Norwich on Friday, but it was lovely. I thought the old parts of the town were beautiful, and there were loads of great old bookstores everywhere. I really reccommend a visit.
