Blog meet in July

Hi y'all. I'd like to organise another Manchester blog meet for a Saturday or Sunday in late July. It's nice to get the blogging brethren together for a cup of tea from time to time, and I also have some news to share about a blogging event that's going to happen during the first annual Manchester Literature Festival this coming Autumn, one that lots of you should be involved in.

This is going to be an hour-or-so-long casual meet somewhere in the city centre. So, I'm putting this out there to solicit input about what's a good day/time/location for people, and also to see if anyone has anything else that they'd like to talk about at the meeting (new blog-related projects, burning questions about templates, etc...) Please respond in the comments with your thoughts, or you can also email me at themanchizzle at gmail dot com.

And... I'm just about to do another new bloggers post, so let me know if you've got any new candidates for the blogroll.

Please put my name on the list and I'll keep an eye on the site for a confirmed date and location.

Y,

Brilliant idea but only for an hour? Not when there'll be adrinking and atalking to be done. Kro bar in Piccadilly seemed to work when Clare Suds organised the last one, I think she booked a bit of space there on the Sat afternoon. Hey, a couple of more times and we might gain the status of a literary festival. Yah, Hay on Wye's just sooo last year, dontcha know?

I reckon somewhere with free wifi would be good, so:

- Kro 1, bottom oxford rd (has wifi and a beer garden - does Kro picc do wifi?)

- common, northern quarter(would we fill it?!)

- urbis (could use b2b rooms for a private party)

Dan, yes, perhaps an hour is too short. But if we say an hour, you know it will be two or three and then some folks will invariably go on to a pub after -I just wanted to let this happen organically.

FFFF, all of these places sound good. I'd like to see if we can get a place where we have a room of our own and can all sort of sit together - and that probably wouldn't be possible at Kro or common. The Briton's Protection has a room we could use, though they don't do wifi. Do people really need/want wifi? What do you think?

I'm up for that. Count me in! As for the wifi debate, as long as there's beer and pleasant surroundings, does it really matter?
